Ep 25: 5 Things You Need to Give Up For More Clarity and Focus
Monday Oct 26, 2020
Monday Oct 26, 2020
How do you get more clarity and focus in your life?
This is what so many people are seeking the answers to but are challenged to figure it out.
In this episode Coach Danny Stone breaks down 5 things you have to give up in order to gain more clarity and focus to create the life you want!
[4:37] Fast food is not designed to give you clarity and focus.
[5:04] It’s not designed to give you energy.
[5:55] Fast food is addictive and they designed it to be addictive.
[7:40] Everything starts small.
[10:46] You can make that shift. These are things you have to give up, you can start doing less of.
[11:14] Successful people are reading, they're watching documentaries, they're educating themselves, they've taken seminars, they're having meaningful conversations.
[12:12] We have to be conscious on how we're spending our time and what we're spending our time on.
[12:37] I think a lot of us have toxic people in our lives. It's time for us to clear out those toxic people.
[15:04] Stop telling them your goals and dreams.
[18:55] Do an audit of your day, and look at how you spend your time.
[19:18] Instead of taking a lazy day, get up and get active!
[22:53] All of those things just came together and it just created this unhealthy lifestyle. And it showed because I wasn't as productive as I should've been.
[23:50] I had to give those things up because I have a bigger mission in life.
[24:05] How can I do that if I'm not willing to do it for myself?
[26:05] Take a look at how many hours you spend on your phone for one week.
[26:52] It's probably going to be the most difficult one for all of us but it's something for you to think about.
[27:57] The phones and social media are designed for us to be addicted.

Ep 24: 5 Reasons You Will Want to Teach Online Courses
Monday Oct 19, 2020
Monday Oct 19, 2020
Do you ever think about starting a side hustle or online business?
Do you wish you had more freedom and fulfillment in your life?
In this episode, I break down why selling online courses is a great way to turn your knowledge into profit and make a greater impact in the world. Now is the perfect time to make extra cash selling online courses because more and more people are learning online.
You have knowledge, information, experience and stories that people need right now. I break down 5 reasons why you should start teaching online courses right now.
Why aren’t more people taking the knowledge, skills, experiences that they have, teach other people and make money doing it?
I was making other people money by training and consulting, but I wasn’t doing it for myself.
You don’t even need to have a training or teaching background to be able to deliver courses and programs, and make a great impact into their lives. You don’t have to have that background.
People will pay for information when it solves their problem or it gives them a shortcut to the goal that they have.
If you can package what you know, what you’re passionate about, your skills, experiences or stories, in a way that is bite size, where people can really understand it, then they’ll want to pay for that.
If you teach online, it’s limitless.
You can start a side hustle, you develop it one time, and you make money out of it forever.
I made money while I’ve been on vacation, while I’ve been sick, while I was doing other things because the course was online and available for people to purchase anytime.
I was selling courses while I had a full-time job.
I can make a greater impact in the world because my courses reach people all over the world. I’m helping people to solve their problems. I’m making money doing it in an ethical way.

Ep 23: Media Minded with Fenella Bruce
Monday Oct 12, 2020
Monday Oct 12, 2020
In a world where everyone is fighting for attention on social media, mainstream media and online, how do you get your message or story out to the masses?
In this episode, Coach Stone speaks with Fenella Bruce, a veteran television producer and writer, and Founder of FKB Media Solutions – a media consulting company that finds solutions for media problems. She shares great tips to help you get mainstream media coverage.
Fennella has worked in the field of journalism for over 20 years and produced both Canada’s national morning shows – Your Morning and Canada AM. Fenella was also a senior writer or producer at numerous major market television stations, including CTV News Channel, CP24, CityTv, Toronto 1, and BET. For six years, she taught Media Theory at Centennial College and served on many critique juries, including the Canadian Screen Awards and The New York Festivals International TV Broadcasting Awards.
She talks about leaping from journalism to production and how these are two intertwined with each other. She also talks about why there is nothing wrong with doing something else as long as you enjoy it, and you love the challenge. Fenella also mentions how black people don't have enough exposure in the media, especially in lead roles and positions behind the camera.
If you have a dream or you are searching for your dream, listen to this episode.
Here are a few more highlights from our conversation:
[10:39] Never burn your bridges.
[11:29] As a journalist, you genuinely have to be an expert on everything.
[11:47] When you are writing, you have to be able to summarize things very quickly.
[12:18] The writer gets to interact with everyone, the reporters, the camera person, the editors, and the assignment desk.
[12:32] Most writers go into producing because once you know what everybody does and how it works, that is the first step to becoming a producer.
[12:55] You have to be able to write if you are a good producer.
[13:47] That is what people think about journalism, you are in front of the camera, or you are writing a story. But I did not realize so many other roles until I started volunteering in the newsroom that were open to me and that I should consider.
[14:04] Producers are decision-makers. They are gatekeepers.
[14:35] If you have a good team and a team that respects you, then it is not a difficult job.
[20:51] You want to be in the space, so people see you, and when an opportunity comes up, they think about you.
[21:10 ] A lot of people do not understand the power of mentorship. It is the power of getting in the same space as people who are already doing what you are doing.
[21:57] You have got to keep your eye on the prize.
[22:37] I am not afraid to speak to people. I am not afraid to put myself out there and take feedback. I want to learn.
[32:01] If you decide to ease in into doing something else, you could always come back to doing what you were doing.
[32:48] There is no shame in going back.
[32:54] If I can do my job as well as I was doing for someone else and make these companies millions of dollars, then I can do that for me.
[33:04] You have to be able to bet on yourself.
[34:40] What you need to do is sit down, figure out how much you need to make for a month, set that as your goal, look at what you can do, and how you can get that goal, and then you do from there.
[35:08] When you have that monthly goal, it does not seem as daunting to you.
[35:41] Many of us give up on our dreams and goals because we do not think it is possible. But we have not sat down and mapped things out.
[37:38] I tell people when things do not work. I am not going to act like everything is all great.
[39:05] Sometimes, you can do something just for the love of it.
[40:01] It was either do it now or don’t do it at all.
[45:46] If you find the right people and train them properly, you can relieve a lot for you.
[49:21] Auntie Jillian is Canada’s first Black Caribbean reality tv show.
[51:57] A lot of shows or people, Candian personalities, are the same people. We do not see any fresh new faces.
[53:43] When everybody looks the same, then you’re not going to get anything different. You’re going to get the same stuff, and that’s what you’re getting in Canadian Television.
[1:00:47] It’s all about your work ethic and being open.
[1:04:05] Make sure that your package is right.
[1:04:42] Ensure that your website reflects what you’re doing, up to date, with good content, easy to navigate, and shows what you want to do.
[1:10:00] You want to make sure you’re targeting the right person, and then you want to send what’s called the “pitch.”
[1:10:19] You have to be careful because sometimes you’ll just get shrugged off to advertising, so there has to be something distinctive about you.
[1:11:48] The easier you can make it for the reporter or the producer to visually see your story, the easier it will be for you to get your story in.
[1:16:23] When you’re working from home, you can continuously work. And so, you have to learn to draw that line.
[1:18:07] That’s part of grinding, where you can’t let things set you back.
[1:19:55] Set an attitude of gratitude.
[1:20:08] Gratitude is not just about saying thank you when somebody does something for you. It’s about saying thank you even when they haven’t done something for you.

Ep 22: From Passion to Purpose With RNB Singer JRDN
Monday Oct 05, 2020
Monday Oct 05, 2020
JRDN is a Toronto-based R&B recording artist, his songs have yielded Gold status in Canada, and he's also a Juno Award winner. The Juno's are Canada's version of the Grammy Music awards in the United States He's been on hiatus and is now back with a new album, called Ralph, to be released sometime this year in 2020.
In this episode, JRDN opens up about following his two passions, basketball and music, overcoming deaths in his family, evolving as an artist, letting go of old friends that were holding him back and surrounding himself with positive people. He talks about the highs and lows of the music industry, beating drug addiction and the importance of getting started on your dream.
You will learn so much about JRDN, but more importantly, you will learn so much about yourself.
Listen to this episode.
[9:21] It started because they made fun of me. I said to myself if you’re going to make fun of me, you know what, I’m going to do what you love and become just as good, if not better.
[9:53] I kind of call myself a late bloomer. I’m thankful for those guys because I wouldn’t have that journey in life and go down that road playing basketball.
[14:05] Babyface was the number one influence. And when you’re listening to so many artists, you kind of to take a little bit from each other not knowing that you’re doing it.
[17:21] I went to Kenya. We went over to build schools and experience the life over there.
[22:25] It doesn’t matter what you do. We can all make a difference.
[22:43] It’s my responsibility to do more and help other people.
[23:25] This time around, I don’t have anybody in my ear. This is all me. The tracklisting, the way it’s in order, it’s really all me. Not having anyone tell me you have to drop this off. I can finally be free and do what I want.
[25:56] There’s no pressure and it feels more comfortable.
[27:13] It’s a lot freer. The freedom is there. We go in with no expectations and no limitations.
[30:34] It’s different when you work with someone on the same level in terms of what you’re trying to create in the world.
[30:51] Be aware of your life support network. Are they lifting you up or holding you back?
[37:12] My mom always gave me great advice, never lets me forget who I am and where I came from.
[37:20] My daughter keeps me in the straight and narrow. Keeps my feet on the ground. Family to me is really important.
[39:10] We have something that we’re passionate about. That’s what helps me cope.
[39:30] That becomes my therapy. The music and the studio, that’s my therapy.
[43:08] I love that you’re using your music to bring people together because that’s what we need right now.
[52:16] If you see your kid picking up a camera, go nurture that.
[52:30] It’s finding that passion and not being influenced by anybody else telling you how it’s done.
[52:40] You have to have the discipline to follow your curiosity.

Ep 21: Leading With Service With Louis March
Monday Sep 28, 2020
Monday Sep 28, 2020
What's your purpose in life? Do you ever think about that?
Maybe you have thought about it and just don't know.
Or maybe you just don't want to think about it.
Either way, you are here for a reason.
We are all here for a purpose—to help each other. We should make use of our talents and skills to help those in need. When we are of service to others, we benefit and improve our own lives. Make a commitment to help others in your community it will change your life.
In this episode, Coach Stone speaks with Louis March, the founder of the Zero Gun Violence Movement. Louis has been a volunteer community worker and an advocate in the African Canadian community for over 30 years. His work has primarily focused on youth engagement and mentorship initiatives along with serving on various community organization Boards and Advisory Committees.
Louis talks about leadership, racism, inspiring young people, and gun violence in Toronto, Canada. He also mentions how important the youth are today in the Black Lives Matter movement. We have to be there for them and support and encouragement them. They are our present and future. We should not let them dwell in the darkness. We must remind them that it is never too late to start a new path.
[4:06] When you’re managing people, you’re managing deadlines, limited resources, and expectations.
[5:27] It was about management theory, that not everybody is the same. The management style for one person may not be effective for another person.
[5:42] Management by objectives (MBO) means that you don’t sit down and declare an objective for your department unless your staff buys into it.
[5:53] Management objective is when you come up with the objective that you need, sell it to your staff and get them to buy into it, and then give them the resources and support so that they can achieve it.
[6:54] If you have to empower your staff, they’re always going to be slaves to you. They’re only going to work when you’re around. You have to teach them how to empower themselves.
[7:21] In the long run, if you want to make a difference for them, teach them how to empower themselves so that when you’re not there, the work can continue.
[8:22] Treat people with respect and encourage them when they do things right.
[8:45] The compensation is not just your salary. It’s your development and learning.
[9:24] It’s about continuous learning. Not only for yourself but when your manager continues learning for the people.
[9:41] Continue to learn, grow, and excel until you can do something else.
[10:35] You better be nimble, quick, and aware of what’s changing around you. Change with it, or you will be a victim of this change.
[17:15] When we look at the US, and we look at Canada, we know that in the US, racism is blatant. It’s upfront.
[17:29] In Canada, it’s been below the table. However, it’s still as damaging here as it is in the States.
[20:02] The silent victims are the ones that have been suffering racism and police brutality but have kept quiet because they didn’t think anybody would have listened to them.
[20:20] The silent participants, those in the workplace, public transports, and schools. They knew what was going on, but benefited from their silence.
[21:44] There is white privilege. Racism does exist in Canada and around the world.
[28:14] Our perspective on what’s going on in the streets, in terms of gun violence, is different from what you can hear from the politicians and the police.
[28:40] There’s the socialization that takes place. Understand that socialization so that they have legitimate options besides gang and gun violence.
[31:22] Society does not give these young people a chance, a meaningful chance.
[31:54] You don’t have to be a bad person to end up going the wrong way.
[35:51] When I look at gun violence, I look at it as a report card of where we failed.
[40:46] I think the average incarcerated person has a Grade 6 or Grade 8 education.
[41:30] When you have nothing to do, a drug dealer will give you something to do.
[43:09] These are the challenges that we have. They’ve given up on life, no goals, nobody to help them set a goal, and nobody there to support them in difficult situations. The only people that respond to them are gang life—the gang culture.
[43:29] Eighty percent of the people in the provincial jail system does not have a proper Grade 8 education.
[45:53] I’m not giving up on these young people. All we have to do is be there for them and provide them with some support and encouragement.
[46:48] We have something called the Four Rs from the Zero Gun Violence Movement. We have to learn how to deliver the right resources to the right people at the right time and the right place.
[47:38] We have all these failures in terms of providing service and support, and then we wonder why these young people turn their backs and go to another place where they can get what they are looking for.
[50:47] I see a lot of organizations out here getting money, but I don’t see them doing the work in the community.
[52:43] That’s why we have to find balance in an organization. You need funding but also have an impact on the population.
[52:54] We have something called the Funding Olympics. When the fund comes out with money, they know who they’re going to give the gold, silver, and bronze medal to.
[53:55] We have to learn to realize that community safety has to come from the community itself. Not from the government and the police. By the time they get involved, it’s too late.
[55:04] Learn to work with each other. Partner and collaborate in a meaningful way because a young person might have five different issues that need to be dealt with.
[56:29] I have to invest in myself from a health and wellness point of view. I have to stop thinking that I’m invincible.
[1:00:46] I better start valuing and appreciating the small things.
[1:02:19] You have the gift of life. Make the most of it. Stop whining and complaining about everything and start positively influencing others.
[1:04:02] Never be too judgmental because you never know their full story.
[1:05:08] Reimagine yourselves—new goals and new objectives but also having the resilience to survive.
[1:06:04] Society always shows up late. We got to be ahead of that.
[1:07:58] Society is changing. The influencers in society for your children are changing. You got to be aware of that.
[1:08:16] When you need help as a parent, attend parenting programs.
[1:08:30] Be a part of the solution. Don’t always be on the sidelines because the demands of our children today are different from the demands of our children yesterday.
[1:09:23] Don’t be afraid of adversity because out of adversity comes success.
[1:09:57] When there’s an obstacle, I’m not giving in but just elevating my game.
[1:13:21] Have a plan. One that is leading somewhere. Don’t be at the mercy of others.
[1:16:20] Gratitude is being generous with your praise.

Ep 20: 5 Things You Can Do to Stand Out in your Industry
Monday Sep 21, 2020
Monday Sep 21, 2020
How do you stand out from other entrepreneurs or business owners in a world of so many? It's something that many individuals and business owners struggle with. In this episode, Coach Danny Stone lays out some tips to help you stand out from others in your industry.
These five tips will help you break through the sea of noise and standout! And no it's not just about sales and marketing. Take a listen.
[2:28] You don’t have to be the most outgoing person to be able to connect and stand out from other people.
[2:58] Be authentic.
[3:58] People can see through the BS. They can see when you’re lying.
[5:14] Be vulnerable.
[6:36] It’s owning up to those mistakes that really makes that connection between you and potential customers.
[7:45] What did you learn from those mistakes?
[7:57] Do what you say you’re going to do.
[8:49] Deliver the product or service on time. Deliver the big promise that you make.
[13:16] I took note of those individual needs and started to look at patterns in terms of what potential customers were struggling with.
[14:01] Listening to what your customers want is so powerful. It really helps you to hone into what they want.
[16:14] What did you learn from the struggles? What did you learn from the successes?
[17:49] That’s the power of storytelling. You have to learn to be a better storyteller if you want to stand out from your competitors.
[20:29] I step up and say I’m human. I make mistakes. Here’s how it’s gotten better and helped my business.

Monday Sep 14, 2020
Have you ever missed a great opportunity? Or have you ever achieved a goal you set out to achieve and nothing changed? Maybe you missed that opportunity because you weren't focused on what you want. And maybe that goal you achieved didn't change anything because you set the bar too low.
To be successful, you must know what it is that you want, ask for it, and take action to make it happen. The more you do, the more likely you will be successful.
In this episode, Danny tells you why you should raise ABAR if you want more success and happiness. This is a must-listen if you want more out of life or your business. Stop letting what you want pass you by. Learn to increase your level of asking for what you want, believing you will receive it, taking massive and being ready to receive what you ask for. When you raise ABAR you increase the possibility of achieving your goals and dreams.
[2:00] ABAR is an acronym, and raising ABAR means raising your level of asking for what you want, believing that it’s going to come to you, raising your level of action, and raising your awareness around receiving.
[4:29] I think if I wasn’t as open and aware of raising my level to what I’m asking for or what I’m seeking, I may have missed this opportunity.
[4:41] I see many people missing opportunities because they don’t come the way they expected to come. They don’t come packaged up the way they expect.
[5:02] You have to increase your level of what you’re asking for.
[5:09] Most of us set our goals and set the bar on our goals so low that we can trip on it, and it wouldn’t move our life forward.
[5:53] To be successful, to have the joy, the happiness, the love, and the success that you want, you have to fail because that’s how you learn.
[6:06] To stop protecting ourselves, we have to be bolder with what we’re asking for.
[6:57] Once you can declare boldly what you want, you’re telling the god, the universe, whatever you believe in, your creator, that you’re open to more. You’re ready. You're seeking more.
[8:37] It takes work to achieve things that you have never achieved before, and in that work, you first have to start with being bold about the ask.
[9:31] There is so much power in visualization.
[10:44] You just keep visualizing yourself being successful because what you’re doing is you’re planting the seed to believe that you can achieve it.
[11:01] Progress equals belief.
[11:08] As you start to make progress on your goals and dreams, you start to see that it’s possible.
[11:48] Create a vision board.
[14:19] A symbol is something that represents the importance and value to you. It’s something that you want to strive towards every single day.
[16:17] You’re not just going to wake up one day, and everything you’ve ever wanted is handed to you. It requires action.
[19:00] Receiving means that you are open to receiving whatever it is that you’re seeking.
[21:08] In our minds, when we set a goal or have a dream, we expect it to be packaged up a certain way. And when it doesn’t come that way, sometimes we miss it.
[21:42] Maybe you don’t achieve what you’re set out to do, but maybe it opens the door for another amazing opportunity, relationship, or experience.
[22:37] The more that you acknowledge yourself and the more that you’re focusing on your goal, the more that you’re likely to achieve it.
[23:14] Reward success. Reward yourself.
[24:57] Even if you’re not where you want to be, you can be inspiring other people.
[25:41] Even in your struggles, how you handle those struggles can inspire other people to move through their challenges.
[26:40] It might not come in your time frame, it might not reach the way you expected, but it’s coming. Believe that it’s coming.
[28:31] You have greatness in you. You have the ability to do amazing things in this world. If you decide to raise ABAR, you will start to see your life shift in a very powerful and positive way.

Ep 18: Bleed My Truth With R&B Singer Gary Beals
Monday Sep 07, 2020
Monday Sep 07, 2020
Who are you really? This is a question we should all ask ourselves. It’s important to find yourself. It’s essential to find the real you. Explore and try new things. Take time to reflect on who you are and be true to yourself. Once you do, get back on track and start doing the things you love.
In this episode, Coach Stone speaks with R&B recording artist Gary Beals. Having released his last full project back in 2009, Beals has undertaken a spiritual journey during his time away from music, it led him to deep reflection and personal growth. From this growth, we’re rewarded with Bleed My Truth, Beals’ third studio album that offers listeners the opportunity to experience the journey of self-discovery that the singer-songwriter undertook while creating it. Infused with elements of Soul, Gospel, and Pop, Bleed My Truth explores themes of identity, individuality, sexuality, and love.
Gary talks about his music, his journey to be his authentic self and speaking his truth in his music. He emphasizes why you should learn to walk in pride and not hesitate to show who you are. Trust and believe in yourself. You don't need assurance from others, the right people will love you for you.
This episode will definitely help you tap into your authentic self.
Here are some highlights of the conversation:
[4:53] To get what you want, you have to hustle. You can’t be lazy.
[7:00] I just try and find purpose in what I do with my voice and the different songs I sing.
[9:10] Sometimes, we get the pressure of trying to conform to what’s happening, but I’m just like I have to do what works for me and what’s good for my soul and my spirit.
[10:13] People can see, and they can hear that you’re not being honest or being true. As much as we think that we can fool people, they can see that.
[10:56] It’s music that hits the soul. It’s music that we need.
[11:21] People are yearning for that kind of music — meaningful music.
[12:37] A brick needs to come our way, and sometimes you need to hit rock bottom to get to where you’re supposed to be or put you back on that path again.
[12:47] This experience, going through COVID, has been a chance for me to slow down. Because before that, I always thought like I was playing catch-up.
[13:16] The importance of saying, “No, that’s not for me” and being okay with that.
[14:26] Everything is a journey, and your time will come.
[14:46] To become somebody that you’ve never been is not going to be familiar. It’s going to be uncomfortable. And I think that’s what we have to understand about our journeys in life.
[20:55] Showing up in the world and being present is easy to do and difficult to do because there are so many distractions.
[21:11] There’s power in being present because you’re taking in everything at that moment.
[26:25] I just had to come to terms with who I am, and I need to show up as myself.
[26:38] That’s a beautiful thing to do, to be able to travel and learn about other cultures and meet different people from all parts of the world.
[27:00] You grow up, and people around you teach you, but who’s to say that’s the right thing or who’s to say this is what you’re supposed to be taught.
[30:12] I wanted to be able to be myself around whoever it is I’m around.
[31:01] Sometimes, we have to put people on notice instead of asking them permission.
[31:45] I showed up unapologetically as myself to say this is who I am and if you don’t like it, that’s fine.
[33:38] I need to walk in pride. As a black man, I walk in pride. I’m a black man, and I’m good with that. As a gay man, yes, this is who I am.
[37:53] We all have these layers that we’re trying to hold on to, but you need to find the core of who you are.
[39:00] It’s okay to cry and let these emotions out.
[39:27] If you need to cry, cry. If you need to express something, express something. But find that core group of people or that person that you can be yourself.
[44:46] Love me for me. Don’t love me for who you think I should be.
[47:40] I don’t even need the assurance. I just know through myself that it was the right thing for me to do.
[48:45] Patience is important.
[49:09] Sometimes, we look to people for answers, but the answers are within.
[49:22] I need to trust myself.
[50:28] You have the answers. We just have to learn to ask ourselves better questions and be brave enough to listen to the answers.
[50:50] It’s not just about other people accepting you for you. It’s about whether you even accept yourself as yourself. Because when you do, then it’s so easy to maneuver about through life.
[51:26] We feel that we have to be a certain way or certain person for people to love us, and that’s not true. The people who love you are going to love you for who you are.
[53:21] When you’re in the right lane with the right people, it feels good.
[55:01] Sometimes, you have to get uncomfortable finding that thing for you.
[55:47] Explore. It’s okay to try this and try that. And if it doesn’t work, then you go onto the next thing.
[56:16] It’s important to find your tribe, your people, that you can be yourself around.
[57:09] To become the better version of yourself, you have to be around people who encourage you and inspire you.
[1:04:26] Grind means putting in the work. It means working towards a goal — a purpose.
[1:05:49] The more grateful you are, the more God will continue to bless you, and the more good energy will come your way.

Ep 17: Why You Should Follow Your Curiosity
Monday Aug 31, 2020
Monday Aug 31, 2020
What are you curious about right now?
Since we're stuck at home because of our situation right now, many people have been trying out new hobbies and skills. It's the perfect time to explore your potential. You have more time for yourself, so don't miss out on the opportunities.
In this episode, I will tell you why you should follow your curiosity, which could help you move forward in life. It's time for you to step out of your comfort zone and try new things. Don't just settle. Get out there and let your curiosity take the wheel.
[3:02] When we’re young, and we’re kids, we’re curious about everything. We want to know how things work.
[3:27] Once we start to follow the rules and color inside the lines, it kind of diminishes our curiosity.
[4:57] There are so many things that we are often curious about, but then we shut it down because we don’t think it’s possible.
[5:18] We go through life having this thing at the back of our minds, or in our hearts that we really want to pursue, but we just don’t act on it.
[6:35] I think what we should be asking of our children, what we should be asking of ourselves as well, is, “What are you curious about right now?”. You see how that opens things up.
[6:53] For somebody to decide what you want to be forever for the rest of your life, I mean, it’s difficult because you haven’t even tried many things.
[7:34] When you don’t think something’s possible, you don’t want to extend yourself and put yourself out there.
[8:41] Your curiosity changes. Now you could be curious about something, and ten years from now, you might change.
[9:41] When you just settle, you just miss out on really amazing experiences, opportunities, and people.
[10:50] No matter how much I try to justify why it wasn’t possible, it kept resurfacing. That curiosity was there. And so, I had to answer it. I had to act on it.
[13:22] I just put myself out there, and it ended up sort of being a hard lesson or something amazing.
[14:08] Don’t worry about the “How?”. Just get back to dreaming. Get back to following that curiosity, and the “How?” will come to you.
[15:34] You should try to live your life a little bit like you’re on vacation.
[17:02] Try different things.
[17:35] Following your curiosity can lead you to your passions, purpose, and gift.
[19:10] Many of us don’t know who we are because we wake up every day, and people tell us what to do.
[20:26] The more you question things, the more you’re likely going to find the answers or seek out those answers.
[22:06] Asking yourself better questions can give you better answers.
[23:46] If you’re being drawn towards something, if you feel like you’re being called towards something, you have to answer that call. Because there’s nothing worse than having something just lingering at the back of your mind, or in your heart, or your spirit, and not answering that call, and then having regret years later.

Ep 16: How To Win By Being Yourself
Monday Aug 24, 2020
Monday Aug 24, 2020
Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and that's okay. As long as you're honest to yourself, you learn in both situations. There's nothing better than being the real you in front of everyone. You don't have to hide or feel ashamed because the right people will accept you for who you are. Walk in your truth, and greatness will follow.
In this episode, I'm going to talk about how you can win by being yourself. Through this, you'll realize why authenticity is what matters most in every step towards success. Don't be afraid to show the real you. Step out of your comfort zone. Own the stage and make it happen.
[1:32] We struggle to be true to who we really are. Instead, we become who we think other people want us to be.
[1:58] We see other people have this extravagant lifestyle, and then we want that. There’s nothing wrong with that. But what happens is, to get that lifestyle or to get that joy and that happiness, so many of us become somebody who we’re not.
[2:43] Our hopes, dreams, and desires fade away. They get replaced by what we see other people have, what we see on social media, and what we see on TV.
[3:15] You can win by being yourself.
[3:56] When you stand in who you are and you stand in your own story, beliefs, values, and what you stand for, you win.
[4:09] So many people are afraid to let people see who they really are. As a result, they pretend to be something that they’re not.
[4:31] Even if you get the success that you think that you want, you’re never going to be happy. There’s going to be this sadness knowing that you weren’t authentic.
[6:01] It doesn’t matter what you do or what you have. At the end of the day, you have to go to bed knowing that you got those things or you didn’t get those things by being yourself or not being yourself.
[6:32] We want loving relationships, cool business partnerships, and amazing clients in our business. But we can’t do that by lying, cheating, stealing, and pretending to be something that we’re not.
[6:57] I only want to be around people who like me for me. I don’t want to be around people who like me for what they think I should be.
[7:28] You have to be honest with who you really are.
[7:54] Once you’re honest with yourself, who you are, and what you stand for, then you’ll attract the right people.
[8:19] You don’t need to pretend to be somebody you’re not. Walk in your truth. Be confident that there’s something special about you. Know that you have a gift or talent that needs to be shared.
[9:22] That’s the key, attracting the right people.
[10:30] You have to lead with value and lead with service.
[11:15] Sometimes you have to put other people’s needs up there with yours.
[11:24] It’s not just about you. Relationships are two-way streets.
[11:53] If you want to win in life, there’s nothing like giving to other people.
[13:55] Put your energy into using your genius, your superpower, and your talents to help others.
[14:08] The best feeling in the world is when you help somebody.
[14:49] People connect with real people.
[16:52] I’ve always had great relationships with people because they can see that I’m a real person.
[17:09] I’m not afraid to talk about my failures, vulnerabilities, and shortcomings.
[17:34] I don’t have to be ashamed of who I am.
[19:16] I deserve to be in this room just like anybody else.
[23:08] There’s nothing worse than winning when you have to sell out your values, morals, and character.
[26:04] I’m not perfect. I have my failures, I have my flaws, and I own up to them.
[26:40] Nobody’s perfect. We all make mistakes. We’re stronger than we know it. We can have these amazing businesses, we can serve other people, we can live on purpose, but we have to be true to who we are.
