Ep 45: Minding Your Mind With Nicole Waldron
Monday Mar 15, 2021
Monday Mar 15, 2021
Your mind is very powerful. Imagine what's possible for you when you learn to take care of your mind and feed it what it needs to lead you to victory. Imagine being able to have more peace and calm, more clarity, and more focus to achieve things you never imagined and live the life you deserve.
In this episode, I have my friend Nicole Waldron. Nicole is a professional event planner, Inspirational Speaker, Podcaster, Activist, Producer who works tirelessly for the advancement, progress, and prosperity of her community. She is the founder of The Victory Speaks Podcast and The Victory Speaks Online Show which inspires people to live a victorious life.
Nicole and I sit down and she talks about mental health, shifting your mindset, iron sharpeners (you gotta tune in to find out more), morning rituals, faith, family, and how to keep going when you don't want to get out of bed. You will definitely want to pick up these gems she is dropping.
Here are a few clips from this episode:
[8:09] Victory speaks, your victory speaks. And so, when we speak of victory, and we have inspired conversation, it infuses life into others
[10:68] In my 20s I had this vision for doing conferences, and, and all this kind of stuff. But then I started looking at how many people were doing conferences. And so I talked myself out of it. And then I started to look at is my voice really necessary to the noise, not realizing at that time that my voice had its own frequency for its own people, just like McDonald's is next to Burger King next to Wendy's, everybody, they all burgers. Everybody has a different flavor.
[13:52] Because your story matters, your story can make a difference in somebody's life. And I've seen that happen. And also my iron sharpens other reminders.
[18:84] So imagine if you have 10 fingers, that's 10 fingerprints, that's different than anybody else in the world, if nothing else mattered to you. Like that's like, you could just think on the fingerprint and recognize the uniqueness.
[31:73] Yeah, sometimes we're so tied to the outcome. We're afraid to try and fear. I know fear has been it has my been my greatest weakness. And it has also been my champion when I flip the fear and let it come back into working like me and doing it afraid.
[36:75] I say mind your mind. You're going to start seeing me really speaking on this more minding your mind. What is your mindset? What are you putting into your mind? And I say to anybody listening, do a mind fast.
[38:57] So, it's so important that we understand that our minds and brains are connected, and study it and understand it, and renew our minds with our thinking daily.

Ep 44: 5 Common Mistakes People Make When Giving a Speech
Monday Mar 08, 2021
Monday Mar 08, 2021
Public speaking is a very important skill that most of us need to continue to develop. Why? When you become a better presenter you build your confidence, enhance your leadership skills, become a better communicator, advance your career and grow your business.
It's also the biggest fear that most people have; standing in front of a group of people and making a speech or giving a presentation.
In this episode, Coach and Transformational Speaker, Danny Stone is breaking down the 5 common mistakes people make when giving a speech or delivering a presentation. These are common mistakes you should avoid if you want to have a memorable speech or presentation in a good way, not memorable in a bad way.
Here are some highlights of this episode:
[3:22] The reason that you stand up in front of this audience is because you have information, you have knowledge, you have lessons, you have something that the audience needs, and the fact that you're brave enough to stand up in front of that audience and deliver that information, you should give yourself some credit for doing that.
[4:43] The first common mistake is that they lack preparation. Most people don't prepare enough when they're giving a speech. And I think this is really, really important. You really have to take time to prepare your speech.
[8:03] The second big mistake that I see a lot of presenters make is that they have way too much information in their presentation. I mean, way too much information, the presentation might be 30 minutes, and they have an hour and a half's worth of content for 30 minutes.
[9:47] Don't try to make this mass presentation where you just dump everything on individuals that never goes well.
[10:23] The third biggest mistake that a lot of people make is they don't use visuals properly. And one of the most common visuals that a lot of presenters use is some type of PowerPoint presentation, or some type of whiteboard, or some type of flip chart. They don't know how to use it properly.
[14:26] How do you come up with a great intro? There's so many things you can do. You can start by asking a question to the audience that catches them right away. By show of hands how many people have done this. And that's a great way to start. Maybe you start with a joke.
[12:59] The fourth common mistake that a lot of people make is they don't have a powerful opening. When you come out and you have this speech, or you're or you're giving this presentation, you need to come up with a very powerful opening.
[17:49] The fifth common mistake that I see a lot of presenters make that I made many, many times is that I didn't pace myself. In the speech. I used to come out and I was on 1000 Baba, Baba, Baba, Baba, Baba, Baba, Baba, I never took a breath. I would just go go, go go, go, go-go. I didn't slow down. I didn't control my tone and my pitch. I was just I was on 100.
[24:32] Those are five common mistakes that people make. The first one is they, they lack of preparation. The second one is just too much information in your presentation. The third one is the misuse of visuals like PowerPoint slides and other visuals, they don't use them properly. The fourth one is they don't have a powerful intro, which is so so important. And then the fifth one is really your speaking Your tone and using pauses and allowing space for people to absorb the information.

Ep 43: You Were Born To Win!
Monday Mar 01, 2021
Monday Mar 01, 2021
In the words of the late great Zig Ziglar, "You were born to win, but to be a winner you plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win"
That is serious fire right there! I meant that's powerful right? This is one of my favorite quotes and one of my favorite talks I have seen Zig give. That being said, I have to remind myself of this often. And I want to remind you that you were born to win.
That's why in this episode I am going to talk about why you were born to win and how to get back to winning when you have had setbacks or you are not where you want to be in your career, relationship, life or business.
You ready? Well...LET'S GO!
Press play and take a listen.
Here's some of what I talk about in this episode:
[4:53] You made it through 100% of every bad day that you've ever had. Every bad day that you've been Had you made it, you're still here.
[5:57] Nobody has your story. Nobody has your journey. Nobody has your experiences. nobody else's like you, there's no one else like you. And so the fact that you're unique, the fact that you've had your own journey, your own experiences, that proves that you're different than everybody else.
[7:55] You a winner just for the fact that you get up out of bed and you go about your day and you go to work or school or your business or you volunteer, or whatever it is that you do.
[12:07] Regardless of where you are in your life right now. You are a winner. You were born to win. The fact that you are here listening to this podcast, you were born to win. And sometimes it might not seem like that, trust me, I've had a lot of bad days. That's just life but what we have to learn is how do we bounce back from that?
[16:23] The first thing that you really need to do is to get clear about what you want in all areas of your life that matter. What do you want in terms of your finances, your health, your relationships, your career, your business, your personal development?
[18:55] You look at high-performing people or high-performing athletes. They write down their goals, they make a plan. They don't wing it. They know what success looks like to them. They're clear about what they want. And then they know what success looks like they map it out
[20:10] We use all of this negative language. And that's not the language that winners use. Winners don't use that language. So you have to change your language, if you want to be a winner, you got to change the language that you use, you got to be more assertive, you got to be more powerful, you got to be more positive with the words that you're using.
[21:16] Do you visualize yourself succeeding? This is all part of the preparation. Are you practicing? Are you saying these positive things to yourself? Are you visualizing success? Are you taking action every single day to make it happen? That's what preparation is, you're preparing for success.
[21:57] You have to take action every single day. Don't take days off. And if you do take a day off, it's okay, don't beat yourself up. You can restart.
[23:23] Go back and check out that episode with Mario Armstrong and myself. But in that episode, it was really great because we were talking about, you know, how do you win? How do you become successful? And Mario said you need many moments of momentum to be successful. And if you've been listening to me, I always say progress equals belief.
[25:01] I'm thinking, I never thought I could write a book. I never thought I could speak on stages. I never thought that I could start my own business. I never, I never knew that. And I always thought it was some these things were for other people, I never thought they were for me.
[26:48] And so you need to take action. You need to practice every single day with your mindset. What are you telling yourself? What affirmations are you using? Are you visualizing? Are you taking action? Are you connecting with the right people? Because the more you do that, the more you're going to expect to win.
[30:45] We don't need to be cheerleaders. Well, maybe sometimes we need to pump ourselves up. But it's about action, though. It's about action. It's about talking ourselves into taking action. And then in the action, realizing that there's something amazing about us.
[32:25] And we've been able to get goals done, things that we've been struggling with for years in a matter of 90 days in some cases. So if you need some help, definitely go ahead. You can check out at IamDannyStone.com/getitdone

Ep 42: Life IS What YOU Make It With Chef and Entrepreneur Mark Brand
Monday Feb 22, 2021
Monday Feb 22, 2021
Mark Brand calls himself an Advocate, Agitator, and an Accomplice, he is a Social Entrepreneur, International Speaker, Chef, Humanitarian, Artist, rapper, Dj, a world traveler, and so much more! He has 11 businesses under his belt! Eight years ago, he took over Save On Meats, a Vancouver-based institution that has provided food security and access since 1957. With his partnerships with A better Life foundation, they have provided over 2.8million meals to people in need.
In this episode, he and I sit down and talk about the quest to live your life authentically, food sustainability, working for the United Nations, Cooking at the Vatican, working with the late great musician Prince, and how we can overcome challenges in our lives. We talk about falling down and getting back up and doing what you love without having to choose just ONE thing.
This is a conversation you will want to definitely dive into and listen to it more than once.
Here are a few snippets of some of our conversation:
[9:19] I run the businesses that I run, which is a better life foundation charity on three borders, Canada, the US side, and Mexico. And what better life foundation does is focus on feeding, trading, and employing people coming out of the margins, recidivism, Street, and transmit reversibility.
[18:33] I'm an alcoholic. Four years sober under my belt. I relapsed during the pandemic. People are like oh my god, you can talk about that and be a business person and work with the United Nations. I'm like, you have to you. It's not can I, if they turn their back on me, that's fine. I know that I'm okay. But they don't they dig in deeper. They're like, we can trust this person.
[20:30] I'm speaking directly to you at this point, you are not your mistakes, and you are not your slips. They don't define you, it really what defines you is how you're going to deal with them.
[22:00] The poison that you put in, that creates depression, and also disassociates your soul from your body to deep indigenous belief. And it's just true, you know, you become a different person when you're under the influence. And that person is less inhibited, they careless, they might be more sarcastic, aggressive.
[26:00] I was a breakfast cook in Melbourne, at a hotel, you know, like whatever it took to stick to get by while I was traveling, cooking was always something I could fall back on. But it didn't become part of my personality, or the way that I forward face because I became a DJ for nine to 10 years. And then that was my profession.
[27:37] I'm not a religious person, just to get that out of the way, which makes the story even better. But was asked to do this dinner for 400 people for climate change at the Vatican in Rome, and base it around the methodologies and the understandings of poverty and localized etc.
[35:48] We get it twisted, we start to box ourselves in our possibilities very, very early. I never adhered to that. Right. And I refuse to believe it.
[39:00] Homeless doesn't mean you were the guy sitting on the corner with a tin can and a thing, a sign in the dog. That's also homeless. Homeless means sleeping in your car almost means having been in a shelter homeless means Couchsurfing with your mom, because you lost your house. That's all homeless.
[39:54] Don't ever allow anybody to extinguish any of the flames that make you passionate and it's not about a giant audience.
[44:19] I had a disagreement with the multinational supplier, massive company, trillion-dollar company. And I decided to go to war with them. And I was like, what you've done is not acceptable. And they were like, okay, cool. And they sued me. For almost $400,000 at the exact same time, I'd had a disagreement with the designer.
[51:28] I love everybody. Right. But I have to choose how to spend my time. And I won't mince words here, white dudes mentor other white dudes into success. It's, it's how the system works. It's really true. Right. And it's not even that they do it by choice. It's they're just like, just is.
[57:08] You don't come from a place of, like, I know better. As soon as you move into a superiority mindset, it's over for you because somebody is going to find a crack.
[59:17] I'll share on a high level is getting to work with Prince for, you know, almost five years. Prince was an artist that like, I can remember renting The Purple rain tape renting, sorry, taking out the purple rain tape from the Cole Harbor library, and popping that popping in my Walkman because you couldn't afford to buy it.
[105:57] Push everything that I have created or things that have been created with me and teams into the hands of the people that need the most. So we created those structures financially.
[113:00] The reason people are so angry, the reason people got firearms, the reason people hate each other are deeply entrenched on message boards and on Reddit and write and blog posts is that they can't f%cking love themselves as they could the world a different place, man.

Ep 41: 10 Ways to Position Yourself as an Expert
Monday Feb 15, 2021
Monday Feb 15, 2021
I often get direct messages on social media and other messages from individuals or coaching clients asking me, "Hey Coach Stone how to I position myself as an expert?" This is a great question! I break down 10 things you can do to position yourself as an expert in your field or as a speaker with a powerful story.
Whether you are a freelancer, have an inspiring story, or you are knowledgeable or have skills within a certain field, you can position yourself as an expert. You can reach more of your ideal clients, connect with your audience, and reach more people when you are seen as an expert.
Here's some of what is mentioned in this episode:
[5:42] Most people don't write books. And so one of the ways that you can position yourself as an expert, or somebody of authority on a particular subject, or with a story of overcoming challenges is to write a book.
[8:51] The fact that you stand up on a stage, or that you get in front of a group makes you an authority because most people won't do that.
[11:33] And by the way, you don't have to be a great teacher, you don't have to have a background in teaching.
[12:43] But having a podcast positions me as an expert, what you're listening to right now the grind and gratitude show is all about helping people level up their lives and their businesses.
[15:15] Sometimes it's very difficult to find the direction and find the clarity and take the actions that you need to take, maybe you need coaching, maybe now is the time for you to get a coach.
[16:41] Are you a speaker? Are you somebody who knows? technology? Are you somebody who's a great writer? Are you a hairstylist? Are you a barber, are you somebody who's into investing, take that knowledge, and reach out to people who have platforms, and ask to be a guest on their platform
[20:59] There are people who tune into my Instagram, every single day because they know that they're going to get some type of inspiration, some type of motivation, some type of coaching tips, that's going to help them to level up their life in their business.
[32:22] So if you have a five-step process to help somebody sort of revamping their blog, then maybe that's what you do.

Ep 40: You ARE Naturally Creative Curios Resourceful and Whole
Monday Feb 08, 2021
Monday Feb 08, 2021
There is something you need to know about yourself. Something you must understand if you want to go from surviving to thriving. What you need to know is that you are naturally creative, curious, resourceful, and whole.
You must understand that you have the ability to get through any difficult situation and you have the ability to achieve amazing things in your life once you learn how to look inward.
In this episode Coach Stone breaks down what it means to be naturally creative, curious, resourceful, and whole and teaches you how to tap into it to shift your life forward.
Here are some of the highlights from this episode:
[2:37] Even if you are going through a difficult time, or you're lacking confidence or you're depressed or you feel like you just don't know where you belong, you are still naturally resourceful, creative, curious, and whole, you're not broken.
[4:14] There's something special about you find out what it is and live it out loud.
[4:37] I just thought you know growing up in low-income housing that I would just never amount to anything. I was headed down the wrong path. I saw a lot of friends go in and out of jail. I lost friends to gun violence and I just thought that was my destiny.
[6:19] We're too busy focusing on what other people have to say we're too busy comparing ourselves to other people, we're too busy focusing on the failures, the mistakes, the lack of money, lack of love, lack of attention, lack of resources, lack of connection, we're focusing on all of these external things that we don't think that we have.
[8:14] Because when you can be creative when there's room for you to expand what's possible, then you begin to go from thinking things in your life are impossible to possible.
[10:34] We don't ask questions, we don't explore, we don't try new things. And so as a result, we stay in this comfortably uncomfortable box.
[14:43] Stop shutting down that curiosity. Stop trying to justify why you can't explore that curiosity. Stop saying well, I can't travel because I don't have money. I can't travel because I don't have a passport. I can't travel because I don't speak the language. Stop that. Stop stopping your curiosity, explore it, it's leading you somewhere, there's a reason that you keep getting pulled towards something.
[20:35] Whether it's finding a new job, whether it's writing that book, finally, whether it's starting a podcast like this, whether it's traveling to another country, whether it's looking for a life partner, whether it's being a better parent, whether it's losing the weight, whether it's eating healthier, whether it's finding ways to make more money, whether it's getting out of debt, whatever that thing is, that you're curious about, or that you feel that you need to do, take action on it, you don't need to perfect plan, you don't have to know exactly how it's gonna happen.
[25:10] So creativity allows you to dream bigger, it allows you to think bigger than where you are.
[27:19] And the whole piece around being whole is waking up every day, being grateful. wholeness is a part of gratitude. It's a part of acknowledging that you're grateful for the things that you have in your life. you're grateful for who you are, what you bring to the world, what you're trying to create, who you're trying to become.

Ep 39: Turning Your Setbacks Into Rocket Fuel With Mike "C-Roc" Ciorrocco
Monday Feb 01, 2021
Monday Feb 01, 2021
We love the underdogs in sports, movies, or in life. I am sure you have heard the sayings "rooting for the underdog" or "when you fall down, get back up" but we don't do it enough in our own lives or businesses. Too many of us give up on our goals, dreams, and ideas for many reasons.
My guest on this episode, Mike "C-Roc" Ciorrocco says you have to use your setbacks ad rocket fuel to propel you towards your goals and dreams.
Why should you listen?
Mike and I sit down for a talk and he goes all-in on his own setbacks, faith, family, following his dreams and what you can do to keep going and create the life you deserve. You won't want to miss this episode! Take a listen and take notes.
Mike “C-Roc” Ciorrocco is the author of the new book Rocket Fuel, he is the CEO of People Building, Inc., and the powerhouse behind the “What Are You Made Of?” podcast and movement. He is a performance coach, author, dynamic public speaker, visionary and thought leader. He has been featured by Yahoo! Finance as one of the Top Business Leaders to Follow in 2020 and is on a mission to build people.
Here's some of what we talk about on this episode:
[6:39] Like I want people to feel and be unstoppable. Until we're plucked from this planet, we can achieve anything. And it's not just a woowoo like mindset thing. It's not it's actually tactics that you can apply or implement into your life to make that happen.
[13:05] I came to realize is that everything that was coming my way that would stop normal average thinkers, or slow them down, I was storing in my tank, instead of my trunk where it would weigh you down and converted it into rocket fuel to become unstoppable.
[17:18] I will tell you like I go through days in my life in the mornings, where I'll be like, Who can I meet today, it's gonna change my life. Because people do change your life and people have everything you need.
[26:15] And sometimes when you want to help and support your partner, there's things you have to give up. But your dream should not be one of them.
[38:25] I'm mentored by him, 9Grant Cardone). So a lot of people are, but I go deep as I can go, you know, I invest a lot of money with him and his programs and just to be around his thought process, and he wrote the foreword for my book rocket fuel.

Mario Armstrong is a two-time Emmy award winner, lifestyle entrepreneur, creator and motivational speaker with Daymond John's Shark Group. He's also the creator and host of the Never Settle Show. This critically acclaimed production has been recognized with an Emmy Award win for “Best Interactivity”, an Emmy Award Nomination for “Best Program Host”, a Digiday Publishing Award nomination for “Best Use of Facebook Live”, a Webby Honoree Award for “Social: Experimental & Innovation”, and an award for “Best Live Show” from the International Academy of Web Television Awards.
In this episode, Mario and Danny sit down and talk about what it means to never settle, how to keep going when you want to quit, the real way to achieve your goals and big dreams, where Mario gets his fierce work ethic, coming back from being broke, and so much more.
This is an episode you will want to take notes on because there is so much value and tips to help you take your life and business to the next level.
Here is some of what you will hear in our conversation:
[4:15] People need to win more people are people that are struggling to get their ideas to get their passion, they give up on themselves too easily, because maybe they haven't had a good upbringing.
[4:50] I say vulnerability is the new currency. And I keep repeating that over and over because vulnerable, being vulnerable and showing up to be courageous about what you haven't accomplished or What you're struggling with, lets other people know that they're not on an island by themselves.
[13:25] And I'm continuing to be flawed, nobody's perfect. We're always going to evolve and try to be better.
[15:42] But if I told you to switch that word, and say, instead of saying, I'm nervous, going to speak on that stage, say, I'm energized to go and speak on that stage, you feel it completely different. Your physiology changes, your chest changes, your breathing changes, you feel completely different just by saying, I'm energized to ask this question, not, I'm nervous, too.
[18:28] And since we did launch with the best that we could do with what we had, we then ended up getting phone calls, getting messages, and ultimately winning an Emmy.
[23:30] That's nobody wants to talk about this part of the process.Like, we just had a killer show that changed lives. And I'm packing up the U haul truck and now driving that doggone hoopty from New York to Baltimore, and then taking the stuff out.
[30:13] And when you have the big picture, and you can reverse engineer it when you can see the outcome that you're trying to get next three, three months, six months, a year, three years when you can see that outcome. When you only vision that outcome, you get overwhelmed. And that's why some of so many of you quit.
[36:23] And I remember seeing that eviction notice and just wondering like, you know, what is that and having him explained to me what that kind of is and what it meant. But then also to see his mindset is that he still was trying to push on the dream at the same time. And as a kid, I never felt poor. Because the parents do a great job of making you feel like you don't know what's going on in their world.
[43:47] And I just remember sitting in a parking lot crying by myself, because I thought I let my family down because I was the one that came up with this genius idea that we can make this dream happen. And so as a black man, and as a father, and as a husband, I felt like, holy crap. Is this what my dad was feeling.
[45:19] I'm flat broke no money and I'm on the Today Show son.How crazy how what's the juxtaposition of Oh, Mario's made it? He's on today's show looking at Baltimore boy go. Nah, man, my godmother paid for my daggone train ticket. Today's show luckily put me up in a hotel that night.
[49:40] You're never gonna be fully ready to do anything. You just have to do it.
[51:14] And so really, the reason why it wasn't like she (my wife) really supported my vision is because truth be told, I think she had more of the vision of what she saw me as the and this isn't like me trying to be Oprah. It was just like what the barometer was, for at the time, she saw me as the Oprah replacement for a younger generation.
[100:11] I don't want to be the dot. Oh, wow. Like I want my impact to be big enough that it was justifiable for me to be the foreword of your book!
[103:05] And I just really recognized that there was a fourth way to generate some income. And that was based off of sponsorships, and sponsorships. While you still have responsibilities to the sponsor. That's it. I got responsibilities to one sponsor, who by the way, it's not actually anyone's individual money. It's the company's money.
[114:58] I say this quote, "When something is important enough, do it even when all the odds are against you."

Ep 37: 3 Visual Techniques to Manifest What You Want
Monday Jan 18, 2021
Monday Jan 18, 2021
For many decades athletes have been incorporating visualization into their training routines. Some of the greatest athletes in the world from Muhammad Ali to Michael Jordan to Michael Phelps have also used visualization to manifest not only winning, but becoming the most memorable and successful athletes of all time. But visualization is not just for athletes, CEO, successful entrepreneurs, and various individuals utilize not only visualization but other visuals to manifest their dreams.
In this episode, Danny Stone shares 3 visuals that he, his coaching clients, and countless others incorporate into their daily lives to achieve unimaginable dreams. He breaks down the power of visualization, vision boars and symbols and how you can utilize these 3 visual techniques to manifest your goals and dream lifestyle.
Here is some of what is mentioned in this episode:
[2:04] I mean, the greatest basketball player in history, Michael Jordan, used to do a lot of visualization. And this was, you know, back in the 80s in the 90s.
[4:45] But there's a reason why athletes, CEOs, highly successful entrepreneurs and other people use visualization because it works. It's just that most of us do it wrong. We're not committed to visualizing what we want.
[6:06] Ask yourself this. If I had nothing holding me back, what would I want to see in my life?
[7:34] See, when you attach a motion to something that makes it more real, you feel it.
[12:09] And I never wanted to dream big because I never thought it was possible. And that was something that I realized about myself growing up in low-income housing, and my dad wasn't there. And a lot of people around me were very negative. So I never thought about big dreams.
[14:49] The second visual I have for you and I'm sure you know about this is vision boards. Now vision boards are simply just you know a piece of boards. A piece of paper, a spot on your wall, a whiteboard, a corkboard, anything that you can put things on. And what you do is you get visual representations of things that you want to manifest in your life.
[16:50] Another thing that I like to do is have it as a screensaver on my smartphone. So every time that I pick up my phone, I see my vision board.
[18:28] Now, just like visualization, vision boards are the same, you have to take action towards these things, right? You can't just sit back and think that they're all just magically going to come to you, you still want to take action, you still want to do some things towards what it is that you're trying to achieve.
[20:32] The third visual that I talked to people about is a symbol. And a symbol is something that represents either something that you really want to achieve a lifestyle that you want to live, or something that's important to you.
[21:10] So it has to be either something on an image or something on your phone, a key chain, a ring and necklace, earring, something that you keep with you all the time. And the reason why it's so powerful, and the reason, why you have to carry it with you all the time, is, is we have a tendency to procrastinate.
[22:11] And so when you carry it with you all the time, when you look at it, it's like oh yeah, this is something that I really want to achieve, I need to get going, Oh yeah, I can see myself living that lifestyle that I really want to live.
[23:41] And so when I used to go through this procrastination phase, I would just have a picture of my grandmother on my phone. And every time I would pick up my phone to scroll through social media, I would see her face. And it would just remind me that I can do bigger things. And I have to get going on those things. And so that was a symbol that I had on my phone.

Ep 36: How to Develop a Winning Entrepreneurial Mindset
Monday Jan 11, 2021
Monday Jan 11, 2021
Thinking like an entrepreneur is not natural for many entrepreneurs because a majority of people were raised on the idea to graduate high school and go to university or get a "good job." Society wants us to be employee, and we are taught to be, think and behave as an employee. There is nothing wrong with that at all. If someone has the desire to have a career that they love working in an organization that they love, that is their choice.
However, what if someone wants to become an entrepreneur? What if they decide that they want to "be their own boss" and do what they love for a living... How do they learn to develop a winning entrepreneurial mindset?
Most entrepreneurs figure it out on their own. In this episode, Coach Stone shares 7 tips to help you start thinking like an entrepreneur and develop an entrepreneurial mindset. Whether you are thinking about becoming a start a business or you currently have a business, this episode will help you think lock in on the mindset it takes to be successful.
[6:30] And when you look around for help, and you look around for other people, some of your family, some of your friends, some of your co-workers or colleagues aren't gonna understand what it's like to be an entrepreneur, because it's foreign to them.
[8:50] almost every successful person I know has had a coach, has many coaches, or has a bunch of mentors. And so you have to see that as an investment.
[11:03] Matter of fact, you have to understand that there is no box, as an entrepreneur, there's no box, you're not in any box, you can do whatever you want as an entrepreneur.
[13:06] Number four really great entrepreneurs know this, they outsource and they delegate.
[18:19] Listen to your customers. It's not what you think they want. It's what they tell you that they want.
[24:09] As an entrepreneur, obviously, it's always about selling. And a lot of us don't like to sell.
[26:41] And what works really well too is telling stories, sharing your own personal stories, or stories of your customers or your clients or testimonials, or things that haven't worked or things that you tried that didn't work, but you made adjustments or stories of you know, your customers and how they came to you and said that they wanted something different.
[28:03] But sometimes we still think like an employee. And as an employee, you wouldn't go and ask the CEO if they want to go off, right, we just don't do that.
